Dracaena “Warneckei” (Dracaena deremensis “Warneckei” or “Warneckii”)

warneckei dracaena tree effective indoor air purifier.

Main Points:

Dracanaena “Warneckei” is popular with the plantscape industry, thanks to its ability to survive the low-light conditions and dry air of commercial office buildings.

An overall excellent houseplant, “Warneckei” effectively purifies the air of the toxin benzene.

The “Warneckei” is slower-growing than the “Janet Craig” but can grow to a height of 10 feet indoors. Contain its growth by pruning at any time. As with the “Janet Craig”, if the tips of the leaves turn brown, trim those points with scissors and check the air temperature and water level of the plant.

Care:

Semi-shade.

Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy; the plant will have root rot if the soil is too cold or wet. Feed every two weeks in the spring and summer. Water less often in the winter, and do not feed. Mist often and wipe the leaves with a damp cloth.

Grow in standard commercial potting soil in a standard container, or allow the plant to thrive in hydroculture.
